The practice

A single-principal chartered firm, since 2013.

Abbott Surveyors is run from Steyning by Martyn Abbott MRICS, a chartered building surveyor in private practice since 2002. He has worked across the commercial, residential and education estate — first in local-authority property teams, then in private consultancy — before incorporating this firm in February 2013.

The practice stays deliberately small. One surveyor, one phone line, one signature on every report. For larger capital works or specialist tasks we bring in known sub-consultants under our own appointment, so the client deals with a single contract and a single invoice. Reports are typically delivered within ten working days of inspection.
